Hannah Zimmerman '13 Wins NESCAC & New England Open 10k Titles While 4x400m Relay Eclipses School Record - Sierra Livious '14 Takes NE Heptathlon Crown

Nearly tripling their team scoring from a year ago, the Cardinals collected 43 points at the annual NESCAC meet hosted by Bates Sat., April 28, to placed eight with 10 of those points coming from 10k champion Hannah Zimmerman '13 (photo). Her time of 38:25:23 was almost four second ahead of the runner-up in the race. A year ago, Zimmerman was fourth in the event. Wesleyan's next highest individual finish was turned in by Idara Foster '15 in the 100m dash as she came in fifth while Heidi Hirvonen '15 match the placing in the 400m hurdles. A week after setting the school record in the 4x400m relay, the squad of Julia Frieze '12, Hirvonen, Geneva Jonathan and Kimora Brock '15 whittled nearly two seconds off their time with a second-place effort, timed in 3:59.11.
