Women's Track Takes 3rd Place, Has 23 Placers at Conn. Invite with 4 First-Place Efforts, 2 Wes Records - Adds 9 Titles at Swanson Invite

Collecting 124.5 team points to place third among 14 scoring teams, the Cardinals came up with four first-place efforts and had two school records fall during the proceedings at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Conn. College Fri.-Sat., April 10-11. Wesleyan's records came from pole vaulter Kiley Kennedy '16 (photo upper middle), who cleared 10-8 3/4 to win the event and eclipse the 14-year old school record by two inches; and Christina Hebner '17 (photo insert lower middle), who placed third in the 3000m steeple chase with her 11:31.74, a full 23 seconds faster than any previous Cardinal. Also with a first-place performance was Alexis Walker '16 (left side photo) in the long jump (17-9 3/4) and Ellie Martin '16 (right side photo) in the 400m (:58.29). Wesleyan got a win in the 4x400m relay as Melissa Luning '15, Ananya Subrahmanian '18, Sydney Cogswell '16 and Aida Julien '18 came though in 4:02.47.
