In the non-scoring Elmer Swanson Invitational hosted by Wesleyan Sat., April 12, six Cardinals took top honors in individual events while one relay also captured first place. Lynn Edmonds '11 (main photo) led 18 runners to the tape in the 200m event while Hannah Overton '11 placed first in the 400m race. Steph O'Brien '08 set the pace in the 800m race among 21 entrants. Liz Wheatley '09 (photo insert lower left) led the way in the 3k as Cardinals claimed the top four places. Christina Barnett '11 had the top time in the 100m hurdles and Sokki Chham '11 (photo insert upper left), who had a top-six finish in five events as a jack-of-all-trades, placed first in the long jump with a season-best effort of 17-5 1/2. Her leap, performed indoors, exceeded Wesleyan's indoor team record by 1-1/2 inches but is 3-1/2 inches shy of the outdoor team mark. Wesleyan's 4x800m relay crew of Overton, Edmonds, Lisa Sussman '09 and O'Brien was a winner as well. The next action for the squad will be the Little Three meet hosted by Amherst Sat., April 19.
