Short term
Short term recommendations for university records in the university archives include: fuller inventories and descriptions of our holdings, and to make some descriptions available online through our website. The Library and ITS need to increase digital space capacity for both planned and unplanned digitization projects.
Long term
We need to formulate a records management plan in conjunction with various records managers across campus (the Registrar’s Office, GLSP, Graduate Student Office, other departmental records managers) to ensure that non-active records are routinely transferred to the University Archives. The University Archives also needs to work with ITS to plan on how to maintain electronic records in accessible formats, issues of back-ups, etc.
