Azdak's Garden is committed to the exploration of ideas and social responsibility through performance. We create a theater of imagery using masks, puppetry, dance, acting, and object manipulation. We also employ shadow play, music, new vaudeville, and multi-media to create work in which the visual, aural, and textual are equally expressive.
Through our work we aspire to investigate and interpret history through the use of oral testimony, popular culture, and traditional research; to theatricalize folklore and legend, both contemporary and traditional; and to reinterpret works from the classical and contemporary repertoire of world theater and literature.
