
Manuel de Falla's, Master Peter's Puppet Show was composed between 1919 and 1922. The libretto is based on chapters XXV and XXVI of Cervantes' Don Quixote. Don Quixote, while watching a puppet show about Christians and Moors in Spain, intervenes and attacks the puppets.
Master Peter's Puppet Show, was produced in collaboration with Wesleyan University where it was performed November 11-13, 2005. It was also performed on November 19, 2005 at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC in collaboration with the Post-Classical Ensemble.
Master Peter's Puppet Show featured fifteen Wesleyan University students and Puppetsweat Theater's Linda Wingerter.
