MS Found in a Bottle

 


Three Tales by Poe is a shadow play/oratorio adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's stories, MS Found in a Bottle, The Man of the Crowd, and The Tell-Tale Heart with music by Istvan Peter B'Rasz.

MS Found in a Bottle premiered in June, 1998 at The National Puppetry Conference in Waterford CT, and was later included as part of the 1998 International Festival of Puppet Theater's Late Night Cabarat at PS 122 in New York.

The full work premiered in October 1998 at Wesleyan University, Middletown CT. Three Tales by Poe , along with Der Signàl, was presented at LaMama E.T.C Annex as part of the year 2000 Henson International Festival of Puppet Theater.

Three Tales by Poe was performed by Melissa Sylvester, Aggie Postman, Kelly Donovan, Matt Bedell, Carlos Diez, Rolande Duprey, and Lindsey Hescock. Gerald Forbes was the narrator.

In 2002 Three Tales by Poe was reworked to use front projection and to be performed by three puppeteers and a narrator. The new version was performed by Melissa Sylvester, Aggie Postman, Matt Bedell, and Gerald Forbes for a Poe symposium at Goucher Collage in Baltimore, Maryland.
