When people ask you about Wesleyan, I hope that you will tell them this is an uncommon place-a place of the highest standards whose doors are open to all on the basis of merit, rather than ability to pay. The work we do is critical. Its value cannot be estimated, nor can the encouragement your commitment provides.
Wesleyan is aiming high. We work to free our students to make choices that will allow them to be effective leaders. Globally, the need for leadership has never been greater, nor has the potential for people who confidently challenge the old and conceive the new. This confidence, I think, is Wesleyan's greatest gift to its graduates.
We have grounded our present work in a set of academic and community objectives carefully laid out in The Strategy for Wesleyan. The Strategy challenges us to do the best by our students, and we are asking the same of you.
The following prospectus presents a lively case for your increased support for this great institution in a campaign that comes none too soon. These pages enumerate eight reasons why-and how-you might invest in our future. They also describe action we have taken to make Wesleyan an even better place-the place you expect it to be.
I encourage you to be engaged with us and to find opportunities at Wesleyan for your gifts to have the impact you intend. Join us in shaping Wesleyan's legacy for the years ahead.
I can't think of a better investment.
