IN-HOUSE COUNSEL
In-house counsel work for private for-profit or nonprofit organizations, such as corporations and large advocacy organizations. They are full-time legal staff among a variety of professionals, which could include finance, marketing, management, and sales professionals. A large number of in-house attorneys work for corporations. Many of them prefer this type of work environment, which may require fewer hours per week. While many in-house attorneys started out in private practice firms, some law school graduates go straight to in-house positiions.
