Recruiting

The Career Center offers a number of opportunities to connect with employers looking to hire Wesleyan students. Handshake is Wesleyan's career management platform through which students can access employer profiles, view the Career Center's calendar of events, keep track of employers coming to campus to host information sessions or on-campus interviews, access subscription-based resources, and apply for full-time jobs, internships, externships, fellowships, and grants. Additionally, students can manage their career development activity all in one place including tracking their current and previous applications and uploading and storing copies of their resume, cover letters, writing samples, unofficial transcripts and other career-related documents. Students can log-in to Handshake through their ePortfolios.

On-Campus Recruiting

On-campus recruiting provides students with the opportunity to engage with a variety of employers interested in hiring Wesleyan students. As a student, you can attend on-campus information sessions and webinars in order to network with employers and learn more about their organizations. Students can search and apply for jobs and internships through Handshake, and have the opportunity to interview on-campus with a number of top employers. On-Campus Recruiting takes place during both the Fall and Spring semesters. We encourage you to participate in our many on- and off-campus networking and interviewing events.

As a senior, to participate in on-campus recruiting you must complete the following steps:

• Attend a Senior Meeting. These meetings are scheduled the first week of the fall semester.
• Read and acknowledge the Code of Conduct box when you log in to Handshake.
• Have your resume approved by a Career Center counselor. Even if you had your resume approved in the past, you must have it re-approved for senior year.

Please visit the Gordon Career Center calendar on Handshake to see upcoming events & employers coming to campus.

Off-Campus Recruiting

Wesleyan participates in three consortia events with other selective, private liberal arts institutions - the Fall Recruiting Consortium (FRC) and Eastern College Career Days (ECCD). Students have the opportunity to apply for several jobs with the possibility of being selected for multiple interviews in one day and in one place.

How to Apply:

FRC: Students must submit resumes and cover letters online via the FRC site in advance in order to be considered for pre-select interviews. To register, students will use their school email address and the “forgot password” function.

ECCD: Students must submit resumes and cover letters online via the ECCD site in advance in order to be considered for pre-select interviews.  To register, students will use their school e-mail address and the token password which can be found in the resources section on Handshake.   Once they have logged in, students must create a new password for future logins to the site.
