An adult workshop for storytellers, writers, theater artists, or anyone working on a memoir.  All levels of ability welcome.  Discover how to tell your story in your own words, without memorization.  The workshop will include a series of exercises in listening as a path to real communication, using interviewing techniques for finding the messy, complicated heart of the story.  there will be opportunities for participants to get on their feet and tell their stories out loud, the place where stories really come alive.

Daisy presents his storytelling/solo performance work, All Stories Are Fiction, at the CFA Theater, Thursday, July 19, at 8 PM.  For tickets to this performance, visit the CFA Box Office.

About Mike Daisey:  Mike Daisey is a fierce storyteller--one minute hilarious, the next minute sweet--with a fine-tuned ear for digression.  The New York Times has called him "the master storyteller" and "one of the finest solo performers of his generation," and he has been compared to Garrison Keillor, Spalding Gray and David Sedaris.  With All Stories Are Fiction, audiences get the chance to hear one-of-a-kind stories told for the first time and never to be repeated again.  Here's how it works:  An hour before curtain, Daisey sits down backstage and creates a one-page outline, and when the lights come up he opens his mouth to tell the tale for the first and only time.  The words spoken that night will live for only as long as they are in the air, and then beyond that, only in memory and reflection.  Visit his website:  mikedaisey.com
