Internships

To learn more about Wesleyan's philosophy on experiential education and internships within the context of the liberal arts education, please click here. At Wesleyan University, students are eligibile to receieve credit for an internship experience through three options.

Education in the Field

Through an academic department and in partnership with an individual faculty advisor, students can receive credit for an experience in the field. Students must have a faculty advisor for this course. Students interested in pursuing Education in the Field please see your class dean or faculty advisor to review the requirements and begin the process. Please note that this is a 1cr course option and has an associated tuition cost for enrollment.

Independent Study

Through an academic department and in partnership with an individual faculty advisor, students work one-on-one with a faculty member on a research project. Students must have a faculty advisor for this course. Students interested in pursuing an independent study for academic credit please see your class dean or faculty advisor to review the requirements and begin the process. Please note that this is a 1cr course option and has an associated tuition cost for enrollment.

Internship Course CSPL 493

Through the Fries Center for Global Studies, students are able to enroll in CSPL 493 for .25 credit. For this course, students identify an internship, seek approval for credit, and complete course assignments. Questions?
