WESLEYAN TUITION FOR WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY CREDIT
While studying abroad through the Office of Study Abroad (OSA) students are fully enrolled at Wesleyan in the category of non-resident study (NRS). The credits and grades earned from coursework abroad appear on their transcript the same as if the courses were completed on the Wesleyan campus and are counted towards their Wesleyan degree. OSA participants may use their financial aid to defray the cost of their semester or year, just as they would on campus, and they have access to the same support available to them on the home campus. For all intents and purposes, they are on a Wesleyan campus abroad.
For all these reasons, Wesleyan students pay Wesleyan tuition while enrolled on a program abroad. Room and board fees are discussed below, under specific types of programs.
The formulae by which program costs are assessed and billed vary considerably. Students intending to participate on a program not administered by Wesleyan will therefore review their personal budget with the Office of Study Abroad.
Wesleyan covers charges related to all activities required as part of the academic program (e.g. lab fees or other such charges that do not exist at Wesleyan).
For third-party programs, the program charges are billed to Wesleyan and Wesleyan bills the student. Students pay any program application fees and nonrefundable advance deposits directly to the program.
Wesleyan will credit students’ accounts for any nonrefundable deposit paid when student accounts are figured.
Eligible students should apply for financial aid directly to Wesleyan's Financial Aid Office.
