Fall, spring, or full year. Requires Spanish 221 or the equivalent. Emphasis on the social sciences, with direct enrollment in courses at the Universidad de Buenos Aires in addition to courses at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO), Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte (IUNA), and the Universidad Torcuato de Tella. Particularly good for ANTH, ARHA, ARST, CCIV, development studies, ECON, FGSS, GOVT, HIST, IR, LAST, MUSC, PHIL, PSYC, RELI, SOC, SPAN, THEA, and urban studies.
Brown in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro)
Fall only (July - mid-December). Requires PORT 155-156 (or the equivalent) and at least one course on Brazil. Month-long orientation and intensive language followed by regular courses at the Pontificía Universidade Católica. Independent study, homestay.
CIEE in Sao Paulo or Salvador de Bahia
Fall, spring, or full year. Wesleyan requires that students have taken the two-semester Portuguese for Romance Language Speakers sequence at Wesleyan or acquired intermediate Portuguese elsewhere. Intensive language program followed by courses in a wide range of majors via direct enrollment. Both sites offer ANTH, ARHA, ECON, GOVT, HIST, LAST, literature, PHIL, SOC, and urban studies. Salvador da Bahía is better for AFAM, development studies, MUSC, RELI, and THEA. São Paulo is better for ARST, FILM, IR, and PSYC.
CV Starr Middlebury School in Latin America (various city options)
Fall, spring, or full year. Requires Spanish 221 or equivalent. Direct enrollment in a wide range of fields, homestay. Best for a somewhat independent student. Internships must be pre-approved by the relevant academic department and earn no more than 0.5 credit; some departments do not grant credit for internships.

No Wesleyan credit will be granted for courses taken at UNIDCA. Caribbean Studies and development tracks, internship, and independent study options. Fall, spring, or full year. Requires Spanish 221 or the equivalent. Spanish language course and direct enrollment courses at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán. Focus on anthropology, archaeology, with other options in arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
Augsburg College Center for Global Education and Experience - Crossing Borders: Gender and Social Change in Mesoamerica (Mexico)
Fall only. Wesleyan requires Spanish 221 or the equivalent, FGSS 101, 218 or 230, and a FGSS major or relevant concentration in your major. This is an intense thematic program.
