The faculty and students of
the Chemistry Department form a tightly-knit community. In addition to many
informal social interactions in the hallways, labs, classrooms, and offices,
there are organized get-togethers throughout the year, including a winter
holiday party, a summer picnic, a pizza lunch party in the spring that is
sponsored by Mrs. Betty Tishler, and receptions after each Friday seminar.
