Modern Dance I
DANC 211 SP
This course may be repeated for credit.
This elementary modern dance class is above the introductory level with an emphasis on anatomically sound and efficient movement. Studio work, readings, and homework assignments focus on experiential anatomy and the
of strength, endurance, joint mobility, and technical skills necessary for working in dance technique, improvisation, and choreography.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Written assignments and weekly participation in group meetings outside of class.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Placement on this technical level required by permission of instructor. May be repeated for credit. Students with dance experience outside of Wesleyan may be allowed to pre-register. Please contact instructor.
