The Study of Film Music

The course extends Wesleyan's film studies offerings by focusing on music, an often neglected yet crucial component of movies. After starting with the "Hollywood" approach (from the early sound period on), we look at
music globally, including places like India and China, introducing ethnomusicological perspectives.
