Academic Year 2005/2006
THEA 172 SP
This course may be repeated for credit.
The goal is to use various exercises in dramatic writing in order to begin an understanding of the craft. As much as possible, the work will revolve around the students' writing.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Rather than a final exam, grades will be based on the student's overall engagement during the course. Grades will be reflected in application due to the work, understanding of the critiquing process and ability to
incorporate appropriate ideas;
supportiveness of and responsiveness to the work of colleagues, as well as the quality of the student's writing.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Students must come to the first class with at least an idea for a play they plan to work on, if not a couple of scenes written in addition. They also should be prepared to do a lot of writing in a short time.
