Alumni Networking Opportunities
The CRC offers many ways for alumni and parents to connect with and
mentor Wesleyan students and young alumni regarding issues of career
planning and career success. By providing "real world" advice and
opportunities to today's students, alumni and parents can support the
leaders of tomorrow. There are several specific on-campus networking
opportunities that the CRC hosts annually, including a reception during fall
Homecoming/Family weekend.
Career Outlook
The Career Outlook Program provides undergraduates an opportunity to
explore careers though shadowing a Wesleyan alumni or parent during Winter
Break. Shadow opportunities can range from 1 day to 2 weeks and may include
observing a professional, participating in specific project, or
“job-sharing” within an organization or business.
Careers for the Common Good
In collaboration with the Office of Community Service and
others, the CRC offers workshops and programs that engage and address the needs of students who are
interested in careers in education, government, law, the nonprofit sector,
and public and social service. Examples of program offerings include:
alumni career panels, nonprofit workshops, grant writing workshops, the
Federal Career Day at Yale University,
the Venture Consortium’s Urban Education Semester
(see
http://www.theventureconsortium.org/urban_ed/
for details), law school representative visits, employer information
sessions, and library resources.
Workshops
The CRC offers a variety of programs to provide you with the tools you
need to move forward with your career. Our workshops offer advice in
resume and cover letter writing, building networking and interviewing
skills, preparing for your job hunt, and finding the perfect internship.
