CareerSearch is a highly searchable database of more than 2 million domestic organizations. Find companies/institutions in your career field and geographic region of interest, then read a little about them and get connected to their web sites. The Liberal Arts Career NetWORK is a consortium of 29 highly selective liberal arts colleges who provide programming and resources for students, alumni, staff, and employers affiliated with the schools. Log in to search jobs (both entry-level and experienced) and internships.

MonsterTRAK

MonsterTRAK is a comprehensive listing of jobs and internships targeted to Wesleyan students and alumni. Note that this site is different from the general Monster.com site in that employers have selected Wesleyan specifically as a school to which they want their job/internship openings made available.

Opportunities in Public Affairs is the #1 source of Capitol Hill, Public Relations and Public Affairs jobs in the Washington, DC area. Log in to view over 200 current entry through senior level jobs in Public Relations, Government Affairs, Legislation, Print & Broadcast Journalism on Capitol Hill, in nonprofits, corporations, and Federal Agencies in the Washington, DC area (listings updated every two weeks).

Spotlight on Careers is directory of career topics of interest to liberal arts students. Each topic contains background information about a specific career field, internship and job listings, alumni profiles, and more. On-campus users won't need a password.

Wesleyan students and alumni have full access to Vault.com's online library through the Liberal Arts Career Network. In addition, you can download some of the Vault guides free of charge and get more in-depth job search information.

  • STUDENTS: Please log in to your electronic portfolio and then in the "Beyond Campus" section, select the "Online Resources & Passwords" page. Scroll down and click on the student link to WesVAULT.
  • UNDERGRADUATE ALUMNI: Please log in to WesNet and then in the "Resources" section, select the "CRC Resources & Passwords" page. Scroll down and click on the Alumni link to WesVAULT.

The Venture Consortium, a group of selective, private liberal arts colleges and universities, is dedicated to the development of innovative programs that complement the liberal arts curriculum. We value experiential learning as a powerful pedagogy, the process of critical inquiry, and the role of a liberal education in fostering a sense of social responsibility. Venture's website contains resources and other information about: taking time off from college, public interest work, living a socially responsible life, and issues in urban public education. No password is necessary to access this site and its resources.
 

The Wesleyan Career Advisor Network (WesCAN) is a searchable database organized by name, organization, geographic location, and career field.  Use this resource to network with alumni and parents regarding your career plans and for industry specific advice about job search. Informational interviewing provides an opportunity to gather valuable information in a low-stress situation while allowing you to make contacts in your field of interest.
