Alumni Networking Opportunities

The CRC offers many ways for alumni and parents to connect with and mentor Wesleyan students and young alumni regarding issues of career planning and career success. By providing "real world" advice and opportunities to today's students, alumni and parents can support the leaders of tomorrow. There are several specific on-campus networking opportunities that the CRC hosts annually, including a reception during fall Homecoming/Family weekend.

Career Outlook

The Career Outlook Program provides undergraduates an opportunity to explore careers though shadowing a Wesleyan alumni or parent during Winter Break.  Shadow opportunities can range from 1 day to 2 weeks and may include observing a professional, participating in specific project, or “job-sharing” within an organization or business.

Careers for the Common Good

In collaboration with the Office of Community Service, the CRC offers workshops and programs that engage and address the needs of students who are interested in careers in public service: education, government, public interest law, the nonprofit sector, and social service.  Examples of program offerings include: alumni career panels, Public Service Week, grant writing and job search workshops, the Federal Career Day at Yale University, the Venture Consortium’s Urban Education Semester (see http://www.theventureconsortium.org/urban_ed/  for details), graduate and law school representative visits, employer information sessions, the Service Careers Fellowship program, and library resources.

Law School Fair

Law schools from around the country are interested in meeting and receiving applications from Wesleyan students.  Every other year, the CRC hosts a fair in Beckham Hall that enables students to speak with admissions officers from the nation’s most notable law schools.  The Fair is an excellent opportunity for seniors to meet representatives from target schools; for juniors to research specific schools and to ask questions relating to the admissions process; and for sophs and first-year students to explore the realities of life in law school and the admissions requirements.  All students are welcome, especially those who are simply pondering the possibility of law school.

Management Leadership Conference

The Management Leadership Conference is an annual program designed for Wesleyan students who aspire to top management and leadership positions after graduation. If you are future oriented, ready to roll up your sleeves, and want to build a path to career success, the MLC is for you!
