General
Information
A Wesleyan student or alumni who
subscribes to the Credential Service must request MAILINGS IN
WRITING, VIA FAX OR MAIL; TELEPHONE AND E-MAIL REQUESTS ARE NOT
ACCEPTED.
BY FEDERAL LAW (The Buckley Amendment),
WE ARE REQUIRED TO RECEIVE YOUR REQUEST TO HAVE REFERENCES SENT IN
WRITING; NO TELEPHONE CALLS OR E-MAILS. FAXED REQUESTS WITH YOUR
SIGNATURE ARE ACCEPTED.
· Upon
receipt of your written request, the Credential Service will send your
letters within five (5) business days.
· Letters
of reference will be mailed to schools (including other Credential
Services) or employers. A signed Credential Request form or signed
letter must be submitted granting your permission. (See “Forwarding
Letters….”)
A letter, when marked "Confidential," may
not be read by the student or alum. You may ask the Coordinator whether
the letter specifies graduate school or employment but may not ask about
any other specifics of the letter. Any recommendation not
accompanied by a signed waiver form will be considered and marked
“Confidential.” |
