    Mini Experimental Design

    Research Question

What are differences in effort that students have contributed on working for class assignments and in quality of learning using the CURL compared with no-assistance of CURL? (10, 11)

    Design

In a class, the instructor proposes an assignment that involves using external resources such as library paper-based resources, library CD-ROM resources, Internet, and the CURL. The students are randomly divided into two groups with equal number and gender in each group. One group was required to use the CURL, and the other was required to use any paper-based, CD-ROMs, or Internet resources.

When the assignment was completed, the students are to fill out an assessment survey. The instructor will give each student a grade by points for the assignment.

    Results

    We would like to see:

    1. Whether there are any differences in time spent on completing the assignment between the two groups
    2. Whether there are differences in quality of learning with regard to students' attitudes and assignment grades between two groups?
