Block/Plate/Stone: What a Print Is
By Ellen G. D'Oench, assisted by Susan Salzberg Rubin. Exhibition organized by the Davison Art Center for the Katonah Museum of Art, Katonah, NY. The exhibition displayed about eighty prints from the DAC collection to address a variety of printmaking issues: differences between media of woodcut, etching, and lithography; concepts of quality, condition, copies, stage proofs, and "states"; materials on which prints are made, whether paper, silk, or wood; and prints worked in variations on a single theme, editioned in states, sets, or series. (1994; 60 pp.; 65 ill., 2 color). (Out of print; this publication may be available from a library near you.)
