European Drawings before 1800

The DAC collection has several European drawings of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. Among these are an anonymous gouache of 1521 portraying a Standard Bearer after Urs Graf (German, 15th century); an Abraham Bloemart (Dutch, 1564-1651) drawing of the Adoration of the Shepherds, executed ca. 1610-1620 in wash, pen, and graphite; St. Gregory the Great Giving Benediction, ca. 1751, by G.D. Tiepolo (Italian, 1727-1804); Study of a Woodland Road, ca. 1780, drawn in black and white chalk with stump by Thomas Gainsborough (English, 1727-1788); and François Boitard's (French, 1670-1715) Triumph of Galatea, ca. 1700-1710, in pen, ink, and wash.
