19th-Century European Drawings |
|
The DAC's 19th-century drawings by European artists include a Landscape with Windmill drawn in the 1860s with crayon by Johan Barthold Jongkind (Dutch, 1819-1891). Most of the collection's European drawings from this period are by French or British artists. The former include Jacque, Millet, Appian, Bracquemond, Buhot, Lalanne, and Legros; among the latter are Turner, Chinnery, Wilkie, and Palmer.
