Sheeler

The DAC collection consists primarily of works of art on paper, but also includes a small number of paintings. An important 20th-century American oil on canvas, the Sheeler work shown above has been lent to a succession of major exhibitions. Other American paintings at the DAC include works by such artists as Waldo, Bricher, Vedder, Read, Potthast, Sage, and Neel. European painters represented in the collection include the Flemish painter David Teniers the Younger and French artists Jules Dupré, Eugène Fromentin, Jean-Charles Cazin, and Ernest Meissonier.
