19th-Century American PrintsMany of the DAC's recent acquisitions have focused on building up this aspect of the collection for use in American Studies courses. These holdings include works by unknown artists as well as prints by: the firm of Currier & Ives (4); Amos Doolittle (1); Domingue Fabronius (1); Samuel Hollyer and John Rogers (Pic-Nic, Fourth of July); Winslow Homer (after, 87); the Moran family (12); Lewis Prang & Co. (1); John Sartain (3); Edward Savage (George Washington); James Smillie (4) and by 4 other artists producing prints for the American Art-Union; James David Smillie (6); D.T. Wiest (2); and John D. Woodward (9). This information was accurate as of 1997, but since then it has been integrated into the DAC's illustrated collections pages.
