Artists' Books

The DAC Collection includes contemporary artists' books such as Les Aventures des Cannibales Modernistes, an accordion book printed with lithography and woodcut by Enrique Chagoya; Kara Walker's Freedom: A Fable, a pop-up silhouette book; Ape & Cat, an accordion-fold album of 18 photogravures by Jim Dine, as well as this artist's The Temple of Flora and Glyptotek; Caroline Greenwald's Silk Leaves, a five-page book of paper art; The Book of Revelation produced by Robin Price and Barbara Benish; and Pat Oleszko's Glove Story. Earlier works of diversely related interest include several manga (woodcut "sketchbooks") by Hokusai, and two volumes of this sort by Utamaro.
