The Davison Art Center is producing comparative "learning objects" to aid in the study of selected pairs of works from the DAC Collection. Presented as QuickTime movies that enable viewers to see differences and similarities between related images, these learning objects may be useful for teaching and study in a variety of contexts. The first of these comparative digital resource represent:
A different kind of learning object produced from an original object in the museum collection is a navigable image of a single impression of Albrecht Dürer's Knight, Death and Devil, presented in a way that supports flexible viewing at a wide range of resolutions. All of these digital media resources use source images made by the DAC Digital Imaging Initiative.
The DAC is making learning objects available as an intrinsic part of its ongoing pedagogical work. Other learning objects are being produced elsewhere at Wesleyan by the Learning Objects Program to serve allied educational aims.
