In the words of student curator Lowell Pettit (B.A. Wesleyan 1995), the works juxtaposed in this exhibition, "with their diverse forms of homage, plagiary, parody, appropriation, and--above all else--accidental replication, ask us to participate in conversations with twentieth-century photography."
