Exhibition curator Dahlia Schweitzer (B.A. Wesleyan 1998) brought together works by artists ranging from Rauschenberg and Warhol to Simmons, Sherman, and Richter in order to examine how postmodernists challenge conventions of media and representation. Wednesday 21 October - Friday 11 December 1998
In this exhibition, student curator Marisa Kurtzman '99 traced the history of the snapshot from the 1890s to the present. The exhibition focused on the snapshot movement as an artistic aesthetic since the era of Robert Frank, examining the power of such photographs to heighten one's awareness of the fleeting moment.
