The 2008 Friends of the Davison Art Center Holiday Print Sale took place on Thursday, 4 December, from noon to 7 P.M. in the Alsop House. An FDAC members-only preview from 10 A.M. to noon preceded those public hours. The FDAC sponsors this annual event to benefit DAC acquisitions. Prints offered for sale are from dealer stock, not the DAC collection.
Among the many works offered in recent years were this Pechstein woodcut, |

and this color woodcut by Keiji Shinohara. |
These events provide a wonderful opportunity to purchase special gifts for friends and family, or as a treat for one's self. FDAC members and the public are invited to attend; members are able to mark their calendars well in advance.

Other prints such as these by Elizabeth Catlett, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, and Karl Schrag have been available in recent years.

Charles M. Young Fine Prints & Drawings (Portland, Connecticut) brings hundreds of prints, ranging from works by Old Masters to new editions by contemporary printmakers. Prices range from $50 and up.
Since their inception, Holiday Print Sales have benefited DAC acquisitions with ten percent of their total proceeds. This supports important acquisitions for the museum collection. The first Holiday Print Sale was organized in 1985 by Charles Young (then Wesleyan's Gallery Supervisor) in affiliation with the Associated American Artists gallery, New York. Young became a private dealer in 1991, and is a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association.
