Watermark: Initials "H.C."; possibly initials for H.C. Coising, per Churchill (p. cxxiv). Second or third of three states. Signed in plate, lower right: "Rembrandt f. 1648". Dimensions: plate 162 x 129 mm. (6-3/8 x 5-1/8 in.). Provenance: J. Maberly (Lugt 1845). References: Bartsch 176; Hind 233; White and Boon second or third of three states (probably second based on evidence of shading on door jamb). Accession no. 1938.D1.51. Gift of George W. Davison (B.A. Wesleyan 1892), 1938.
