Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669), Christ and the Woman of Samaria: an arched print, 1658. Etching and drypoint. Laid paper. Watermark: Armorial crest with three "X"s in center, similar to Churchill III-XLII but possibly lacking lions; similar to Arms of Amsterdam B.a. in Ash and Fletcher's Concordance (p. 38). Third of three states. Signed in plate, lower center: "Rembrandt f. 1658". Dimensions: plate 126 x 162 mm. (5 x 6-3/8 in.); sheet 130 x 166 mm. (5-1/8 x 6-1/2 in.).
