| Follow editorial and style conventions in Chicago Manual of Style (14th
edition), except as noted below. Follow postal editorial and style conventions
in the CPIM Directives Style Sheet (in the CPIM SOP book).
Edit for active voice. If an article contains a reference to a directive or form, it must be cross-checked against Publication 223, Directives and Forms Catalog. If there are discrepancies, contact CPIM Process Control and/or Forms Management. To print a form in the PB, contact Forms Management to get a .tif file, which will be electronically inserted into the PB. If no electronic file exists, give a clear hard copy to production to scan. If an article mentions the availability of a directive or form ("Form 123 is currently available at the material distribution centers. . ."), send a cc:Mail to Larry Browne (x2117) in Inventory Management. Give him: directive ID, directive title, edition date, and originator’s name and phone number. If possible, attach an electronic file of the article. Inventory Management will verify that stock exists in the material distribution centers (MDCs) and provide correct ordering information (stock number, edition date, price). The first mention of a form or directive should always include the complete title, which is italicized and set off by commas. Any punctuation after titles (commas, periods) is also italics. Subsequent references can be made using the form number and document ID only. |
