Internationally-known ethnomusicologist Karl Signell has performed and presented Southeast Asian music for most of his career. Dr. Signell played Javanese court gamelan music for many years at the Embassy of Indonesia in Washington DC and has produced audio documentaries on Cambodian music for National Public Radio.

Since 1994, he has edited Ethnomusicology Online, a multimedia Web journal.. His company, Garuda Productions, designed Web sites for the Smithsonian Institution.
