Q: Will on-campus housing be available?
A:

There will be a limited number of on-campus rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis for members of each Reunion class. Priority will be given to WESeniors (Classes 1918-1951) and members of the Fifth Reunion Class of 1997. The availability of residence hall space is extremely limited; consequently, we urge you to make a reservation at the hotel where rooms have been blocked by your class. If you have not already reserved a room, please do so as soon as possible.

Q: How do I register for/request on-campus housing?
A:

You can register online, or you can use the registration form included in the Preliminary Program, both of which will be available in late March.

Q: When will I be notified that I've received on-campus housing?
A:

If you request on-campus housing, you will be notified with your registration confirmation whether or not you have secured on-campus housing. Because you won't know until you register, we encourage you to reserve a hotel room just in case. If you obtain on-campus housing, your hotel room can be cancelled without penalty up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date.

Q: If I pay for on-campus housing in advance, but do not receive on-campus accommodations will I receive a refund for my housing registration fee?
A:

If you do not receive on-campus housing, you will be refunded your housing fee in late June after Reunion & Commencement Weekend bookkeeping is complete.

Q: If I receive on-campus housing, how will I know what to bring and where to go?
A:

Rooms are very stark, with little furniture or creature comforts. Please bring whatever makes you feel more at home, such as an extra blanket, hair dryer, mirror, alarm clock, your favorite pillow, extra clothes hangers, reading light, radio, or fan. Weather can be very unpredictable at this time of year, so be prepared. The residence halls do not have air-conditioning. Most rooms are singles; doubles are assigned to couples on a first-come, first-served basis. All beds are singles. Towels, sheets, blankets and pillows are provided. There are no private baths; each floor shares a community bath with women on one floor and men on another.

Note: If you secure on-campus housing, specific room assignments will only be available when you arrive on campus for the weekend.

Q: Is it possible to have a room next to my classmates?
A:

Residence halls have been reserved by class so that members of the same class will be assigned rooms in the same residence hall. If you wish to be assigned to a room adjacent to a specific classmate (or classmates), you and the other parties must make that request in writing and in advance on the registration form. We will do our best to fulfill your request.

Q: Is it possible for my son or daughter to stay on-campus?
A:

If you have secured on-campus housing, there are a few children's bed options for on-campus housing. Since most rooms are singles, there will be a cot/linen charge for each child in your room unless you bring air mattresses or sleeping bags. If you do not wish to supply your own bedding, we can reserve an adjacent separate room, based on availability or a folding cot with linens for your room (for a $25 fee).

Q: What if I do not receive on-campus housing?
A:

To ensure accommodations for the weekend, please make reservations directly with area hotel/motels as soon as possible; rooms are limited. Please keep in mind there is a high demand placed on area hotels during the holiday weekend. The hotels will process all reservations on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: Does Wesleyan receive a special rate at local hotels?
A:

Because it is a holiday weekend, most hotels do not reduce rates.  Reunion classes have blocked rooms at area hotels and each hotel offers a different rate. In order to receive a room in the block, please make sure to mention that you are reserving your room for Wesleyan's Reunion & Commencement Weekend.

Q: What is the reservation cutoff date for booking a hotel room?
A:

April 30, 2002
