||--Assist with media relations campaigns to develop national, regional and local media coverage for Center for the Arts events and programs as well as the work of the arts departments at the University.
--Prepare drafts of press releases, media advisories, and calendar listings for events that are consistent with the established style for each outlet.?
--Enter calendar event information into various media website databases.
--Help make follow-up phone calls to media.
--Assist with maintenance of press section of the Center for the Arts website.
--Maintain clippings of press coverage.
--Proven public relations experience is preferred.
--Excellent written and oral skills, as well as research skills, are necessary.
--Knowledge of the arts is essential.
--Ability to meet media content deadlines and communicate clearly about nuanced conversations.
--Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a variety of people.
--Must be resourceful and detail-oriented
--Proficient in Word and Excel. FileMaker Pro preferred. Web maintenance experience with Photoshop and Cascade is a plus.
