Job Title: Student Services Project Assistant

Qualifications/Description: Continuing Studies offers a great work-study environment, at the cutting edge of Wesleyan's educational offerings. Our small team functions as a microcosm of Wesleyan as a whole, giving the Student Services Project Assistant an opportunity to know more about nearly every facet of University administration, from admissions to student services to alumni relations, than any other campus job experience could provide. We administer all programs outside the traditional undergraduate experience: Graduate Liberal Studies, Wesleyan Summer Session, and PreCollege Study programs as well as Wesleyan's new online course offerings. Our Project Assistant will work on a series of special projects each term with the Student Services team. Assigned projects will include: Alumni Database creation; Prospect Database creation; Market Research; Marketing Material Delivery, Archiving; and Event Assistance. Specific tasks include cold-calling, data entry, statistical analysis, online research, market strategy, weekly reporting meeting with supervisor, presence at on-campus Graduate Liberal Studies events, and occasional attendance at meetings with representatives from other departments. Qualifications: Confident intermediate mastery of Excel and Google forms; willingness and ability to perform high-level customer service. Ideal candidate will have experience making cold calls, and be extremely pleasant, even-tempered and eager to learn more about the people our department interacts with students of all ages returning to graduate school, students from other universities interested in spending a summer at Wes, and high school students interested in the options that Wesleyan provides through pre-college study. Candidate must be available for evening hours on 10/9 and 12/12 for events, and for a few other evening hours throughout the semester for phone calls, as determined by student with supervisor.
