Do you like history and learning about the past? Special Collections & Archives student workers get hands-on experience working with primary resources such as archives, theses, photos, local history materials, and more. Duties may include inventorying and describing new archival collections, digitizing and describing archival materials, entering thesis information into the library catalog, doing basic archival conservation work, shelving rare books and archival materials, helping researchers by making photocopies and scans, and working closely with the staff on other projects as assigned.
Must be detail-oriented and responsible with strong organizational skills, able to focus on repetitive tasks, and able to handle fragile materials carefully. Some physical activity (e.g., lifting boxes) will be required. Foreign language proficiency is a plus, as is neat handwriting, strong computer skills, and knowledge of the campus community.
