Job Title: Department Assistant

Qualifications/Description: The College of Social Studies is looking for a student assistant to work along side the administrative assistant on a regular basis for at least 6 hours a week. The right candidate must be reliable, have a good work ethic and be willing to work at two to three special CSS events such as banquets and commencement functions held during the year in the evening or weekend. Assist at regularly held Friday Socials and fill in for the administrative assistant if needed. A sophomore or junior who is looking for a long term working position is desired who is not a current CSS student or intends to be a CSS major and who adheres to the highest level of confidentiality. The student must be respectful, flexible, and conscientious as well as work study awarded with funding expected. This position would begin possibly in late August or early September of 2014 Tasks include but are not limited to: Assist with day to day office operations as needed on scheduled work days Photo copying Assisting with various function preparations Keeping the general area of the CSS Lounge orderly and clean Distribute mail Create and display Monday Lunch posters Assist at Banquets, Friday Socials and Commencement Functions, Holiday Party and Exam receptions Create various labels for photos and files as well as other documents Assist CSS Professors with various tasks when requested Ability to work independently Other duties as they are assigned Must be punctual and detailed oriented Please forward your resume along with the names and contact information of two individuals where you have held previous employment positions who can be contacted for references to
