Graduate Students 2009-10
Graduate students who are matriculated, enrolled at least half-time
and are US Citizens or Eligible Non-Citizens are eligible to apply for
a Federal Stafford Loan. Students must submit the following for
summer 2009; fall 2009 and spring semester 2010:
1. Free
Application for Federal Student Aid. The student may complete this
on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

3.

form (.pdf) - Completed by the Graduate or GLSP Office.

Independent Verification Worksheet.
You will know if you have been selected when you receive
confirmation from the Federal Student Aid Programs that your FAFSA
has been processed.
Once
these documents are submitted, determination of eligibility for a
Federal Subsidized or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan will be made by the
Financial Aid Office. The maximum combined loan limit for a Graduate
is the cost of attendance (as determined by Wesleyan) or $20,500,
whichever is less.
An
award letter detailing the amount will be mailed to the student with
accompanying follow-up documents. These documents must be submitted to
the Financial Aid Office to then process the loan.
Beginning 2009-10, Wesleyan University will participate in the
William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program.
