Financial Inquiry

Inquiry is accessed via your employee portfolio off the Wesleyan Home page. Users only have access to accounts that are under their responsibility. The login to your portfolio is your e-mail login and password.

In Inquiry you have access to your specific FRS account(s) or you can select a group of related accounts that you have access to view. Multiple accounts can be run on the same report, if selected.

The reports and reporting structure available in Inquiry include:

Financial Reports

    Accounts - for both SL(Subsidiary Ledger) and GL (General Ledger)

Account Summary, which provides one line per 6 digit account number for all the accounts showing revised budget, year to date actual, budget balance available and percent of budget spent to date.

Account/Object Code Summary (similar to screen 19 in FRS) which details the 6-digit account summarized by object code. Data will include original budget, revised budget and year-to-date actual.  

Account Transaction Detail (similar to screen 23 in FRS). There are two ways to access detail transactions.  One is to “drill down” when at the account and object code level.  That is, click on the year-to-date actual amount and this will bring you to the detail report.  The other way to select detail transactions is to select the Account Transaction Detail report and then proceed through the selection options.  One advantage to Inquiry is that you are able to select all accounts and then see selected object codes, such as postage charges (object code 2580).   

Account Transaction Budget Detail - similar to Account Transaction Detail, with budget detail instead of actual detail.

    Account Budgets

Account Budget Summary, which provides one line per 6 digit account number for all the accounts, showing original budget, revised budget and last year's revised budget. 

Account/Object Code Budget Summary,  which details the 6-digit account summarized by object code. Data will include original budget, revised budget and last year's revised budget. 

    Accounts Payable

Vendors, which allows users to look up vendors by number an do a name search (similar to screens 102 and 103 in FRS).

Voucher History,  which allows users to search for vendor activity by vendor number, account, voucher amount, batch fiscal year or batch date (similar to screen 113 in FRS).

Invoices,  which allows users to search for vendor invoices by vendor number, invoice number, invoice amount or check number (similar to screen 118 in FRS).

All Accounts you have access to, which lists all accounts that are valid for your security access.

Object Codes and descriptions, which lists all commonly used object codes listed by type (e.g. Compensation & Benefits, Non-Personnel Discretionary, Non-Discretionary, etc.), as well as definitions of terms.


An important feature of Inquiry is that the once you have made your selection the data can be downloaded into Excel for printing, sorting, totaling and saving for future use.
