The map collection in the Science Library includes various types of maps from several sources.  The following are resources available to Wesleyan students and faculty:
  • 1:250,000 US Geological Survey topographic maps
  • 1:62,500 historical US Geological Survey maps dating from approximately 1900 up to the 1960s
  • 1:24,000 US Geological Survey topographic maps for selected states
  • Miscellaneous US Geological Survey map publications (3,000+), including geological quadrangles, miscellaneous field studies, and hydrological investigations
  • 1:100,000 Bureau of Land Management maps
  • 1:1,000,000 ONC (Operational Navigation Chart) Aviation maps dating from the 1960s to the present
  • 1:2,000,000 JNC (Jet Navigation Chart) Aviation maps
  • Various historical maps and reproductions arranged by Library of Congress Classification order; there is a manual finding aid for locating the specific LC Call number needed to search this collection
  • Selected sets of Canadian maps from the Geological Survey of Canada
  • Assorted US Army maps, Antarctic survey maps, and maps from other government agencies

The Science Library staff is available to assist users in locating map resources in the Library's collection.
