Traveling to Wesleyan

Linked by a superb transportation network to all of New England. New York, and points south, Middlesex County is easily accessible. Two interstate highways, the north-south I-91 and the east-west I-95, cross the region. In addition, seven major state roads channel traffic through the county: 9, 17, 66, 72, 155, 157, and 217. Some roads are scenic, especially 9, which runs with the Connecticut river in some areas.
Air travel is easy here, too. Bradley International, in Windsor Locks, and Tweed-New Haven airports, both within an hour's drive, offer commercial air service. Brainard Field, in nearby Hartford, handles corporate airplanes, including jets, and two county fields, Goodspeed Airport, in East Haddam, and Chester Airport are served by smaller private aircraft.
Intercity, commuter, and local bus lines all operate in Middlesex County, while passenger rail service is available through Amtrak  www.amtrak.com  which arrives and departs from Meriden train station  and through Metro-North, www.mta.nyc.ny.us , which connects from New York to New Haven
Freight service is handled by Conrail at its Middletown station and along the shore Sailing into the county is equally feasible and provides a most spectacular entry Docking facilities are ample in the shoreline and river towns, and are well known to East Coast yachtsmen.
For scenery, location, and accessibility, Middlesex County, in the middle of it all, ranks at the top of every list.
