HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS:

BASIC UNIVERSITY HEALTH PLAN

The University-sponsored student health insurance policy provides basic insurance at a low premium for outpatient and inpatient care.. The cost for the University Health Plan through Koster is a one-time yearly premium, renewable each year.  The policy term is from August 12 through August 11 the following year. Students that are enrolled full-time are eligible for this coverage.

A detailed summary of benefits can be obtained through the Office of Graduate Student Services.

Student premium for the Koster Health Plan are as follows:

Student (single)  $703- student pays $144

Spouse   $1853 - student pays 1/3 = $611

Child(ren)   $ 785 - student pays 1/3 = $259

Enhanced Supplemental Benefit  $ 300

CIGNA ~ The H.M.O.(Health Management Org.)

Only Graduate Student that receive a stipend are eligible for this coverage.

New students may opt for CIGNA (an  H.M.O.), rather than enrolling under the basic University Health Plan. Graduate students can pick up informational packets and enrollment forms from the Human Resources Office located at 212 College Street. 

New students will be permitted to enroll during open enrollment in September. Continuing students may enroll in late November for an effective date of January 1st.

All CIGNA enrollment forms should be returned to Pat Melley at the Human Resources.

The monthly payment will be deducted from your graduate stipend in bi-monthly payments..
