Stipends for New and Continuing Graduate Students

Stipends for new graduate students who work as Teaching Assistants begin September 1st, and continue through May 31st.  Continuing graduate student stipends begin June 1st and continue through May 31st.

New graduate students are required to complete forms W-4 and CT W-4. I-9 employment forms are also required. Without these forms, you will not receive a stipend.

If you have any questions about your tax forms or tax status, please contact the Payroll Office at payroll@wesleyan,edu If you are an International Student, you must make an appointment with Payroll to discuss you tax status.  Failure to do so will result in your stipend being withheld until the submission of this information. 

Dependency allowance applications are located in the Office of Graduate Student Services.  If approved, these checks are distributed on the first pay period of each month in a separate check, and sent to the same address as the stipend check.

 

Stipends Amounts for 2011/2012 are as follows:

9 month Stipend for new students in Science and Math = $18,000.

12 month Stipend for Continuing Students in Science and Math = $24,000.

9 month Stipend for Music Master's = $11,700.

12 month Stipend for Music Master's = $15,600.

9 month Stipend for PhD Music = $15,300.

12 month Stipend for PhD Music + $20,400.
