Joyce Walter had a discussion with Consolidated representatives to clear up the issues that students had with Preferred Walk In Center. The students will no longer have to pay the full claims, only their percentage or co-pay.
Consolidated Health Plans sent Preferred Walk In Center a claim form to keep on file.
Student should contact the graduate office immediately should anything be different.
Graduate students can partake several workshops like those offered by WesWell and the Health Center (see their respective website). Example of workshops: smoking cessation workshops, Feed Your Brain.
Marina will be sure to communicate to graduate students these opportunities
WesWell is on the graduate website and has been added to GSA website.
The administrators at Health Center are available for referrals and administrative information or assistance during the summer but the Health Center cannot see patients during that time.
Joyce and Marina will made contact with Mark Masselli, Director of the Community Health Center to establish a better relationship with the Center and Wesleyan.
Marina will contact Nate Peters to follow-up on the dental possibilities for graduate students.
Marina will also follow up with Nate Peters about dates for a health information session for graduates with representatives from both plans.
Marina will contact Marcello Curridori, Manager of Transportation Services, about his ride program and see how graduate students could tap into this program for health issues such as a ride to the doctor at a minimal cost.
Joyce will add Martha’s name as a contact about policy issues on the health center’s website.
Graduates can contact Barbara for health issues of any kind including help processing claim forms
This is a fund used for emergency cases for students who are having extreme difficulty paying certain health bills. Marina and Barbara will contact Joyce when and if such a situation should arise with graduate students who might come to the graduate office with severe economic hardship
Student loan can also help with medical bill and they offer low interest
The Husky plan is designed to help all children who don’t have adequate health insurance. Parents who don’t have health coverage for children through work and even families with high incomes can get most Husky services at a group rate. See their Website for more information.
