  1. Wesleyan University’s philosophy on health care options for graduate students
    • Historical background
    • Premiums for grads
    • Enrollment periods: they are quite flexible and concern grad should contact Barabara Schukoske or Martha Schukoske
    • Role of Health Center and Office of Behavioral Health during summer and periods when University is not in session
    • Clinics such as flu shot: free for grad and health center will consider it to be free for grad’ spouse and their children over 16 depending availability

    • Community Health Center offer a sliding scale feel
    • Delta dental? CGNA? Dental subsidy is extremely costly and would be discussed in more details in future meeting

    • Alternatives Health Center for grad when University is not in session: Community Health Center, Family Practice, Preferred Walk-In Center. Many issues were raised by grad: copay, reimbursement, delay in scheduling appointments, accessibility for grads who don’t own cars,…

  4. Where do we go from here?
    • Grad service will meet with GSA leader in Jan 2006 to discuss about Health options for grad when Wesleyan Health Center is closed and health information to be considered when updating the GSA website
    • Grad service will be communicating with the Community Health Center to improve interaction with Wesleyan Grad
    • GSA leader: communicate at meeting
    • Update GSA website, particularly with a section devoted to health information and access to Health Center during breaks when housing are open and when the university is not in session.
    • Grad service and GSA will work on organizing workshop about health issue including mental health
    • Meeting again in Spring 2006
